Mr. Alexander Koomson an Assistant Auditor General who doubles as the board chairman of Brakwa Breman Rural Bank has pleaded with rural and community banks to support small businesses and enterprises in their areas to expand.

Talking to the Media this week during the bank’s 36th Annual General Meeting which was held at Breman Anhwiam in the Asikuma Odoben Brakwa District of Central Region, Mr. Koomson said, it is the responsibility of banks to motivate and give flexible loans to the infant businesses to help their matchup with the big ones.

According to the Board Chairman, giving flexible loans, ensuring their payment, and tightening the internal control mechanisms has been the reason for Brakwa Breman Rural Bank’s 257% increase in profit with the amount of 363,580.00 in 2021 as compared to 101,977.00 in 2020.

“I will take this opportunity to also advise individuals and especially petty traders to have confidence in Rural and Community Banks because they provide unique services to the Rural Communities” Mr. Koomson added.
