Policemen run for their lives as robbers attack empty bullion van


A gathering of cops accompanying a bullion van apparently escaped into the shrubbery when a pack of looters assaulted the vehicle in Ondo state.

The looters prevailed with regards to assaulting the bullion van having a place with a business bank van yet found it was vacant.

The theft, which occurred at Emure-Ile intersection, Owo nearby government space of the state occurred at about 3.30 pm.

As indicated by TheNation, the driver of the bullion van and the police officers escaped into the bramble when the shootings by the looters became exceptional.

An observer, who talked with the paper, said, The episode happened in the early evening. We just heard the persistent shots and everyone was running for security. Indeed, even the security men that accompanied the bullion van ran into the hedge.

The cops endeavored to connect with the burglars in a shootout however they surrendered and ran into the town, when they saw that the looters had predominant weapons. After the activity the looters got away through Emure-Ekiti street.

Affirming the assault, Ondo police representative, DSP Funmilayo Odunlami said the looters didn’t prevail with regards to trucking ceaselessly any cash, adding that the harmed cop was raced to an emergency clinic for treatment.
