Joint Military and Police team allegedly assault students of Kumasi Girls High School following riots over mid-term break


Some students of Kumasi Girls High School has allegedly been assaulted by joint police and military team deployed to the school to calm ongoing happenings.

Students were due to go home for a mid-term break but that became a story for the gods after a new directive from the Ghana Education ordered them to stay on Campus.

According to GES this action became necessary in attempt to halt the spread of COVID-19 but students who have already made up their minds to go home are simply not happy with it.

According to a report filed by JoyNews, The students went on rampage, Monday evening upon hearing they were denied the chance to go home with School properties vandalized as a result.

A team consisting of both Military and Police personnel were called upon to calm the situation but that also reportedly resulted in assaults on the Students.
