The Executive Director of the Institute for Democratic Governance, IDEG, Dr. Emmanuel Akwetey, has described as worrying, the impunity injustices in our electoral system where known perpetrators of political violence are left of the hook without recourse to the criminal laws of the country.
Dr. Akwetey stated that, due to high level of political consideration for those implicated in the electoral violence because of one reason or another, it has made it very possible for anyone from the other political divide to do same if he or she feels aggrieved or cheated.

He said, because of no punishment is meted out to such hooligans, their nefarious activities continue to characterise the political scenes in Ghana.
He is therefore suggesting that, henceforth, if anyone is caught indulging or masterminding in violent conduct either coming from the camp of party “A” or party “B”, such an individual must be brought to book to face the full rigours of the law to serve as a deterrent to others who may be planning to foment troubles to desist from it.
